I'm pretty sure many of you are familiar with Nikki Minaj ft. Drake's new song Moment For Life, and if you're not, well then, you should just be ashamed of yourself! The song is good! AIN'T NO WAY YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE HEARD THIS SONG!!!! LOL just kidding! But yea, anyways, I'm not here to review the song or any thing just give my intake on it and how it helps me, in a way. If that makes sense. I don't think it does but o well, o well! I just wanna talk to you guys about life and living it to it's fullest potential because really it's too short. I want you guys to get a understanding of my passion and how this song helps me keep my dreams alive because sometimes I just want to give up! But this song speaks the truth...
WOW!! I cant believe I just said Nikki Minaj's song is speaking the truth!!! lol I'm gonna have to re-phrase that ,but yea anyways..here I go!
You see, music has been a part of my life since I was a little girl, all I did was sing sing sing... my family was always telling me to shut up because I sang entirely too much lol. But I couldn't help that I just so happened to be blessed with an amazing voice! Why let something go to waste, right?? Right! I mean it's common sense. But anyways, before I get side track, music has been a part of me since like forever && when I got introduced to songwriting it completed my passion. Whenever I listen to songs the first thing I do is listen to the lyrics, of course the beat may be hot but the lyrics make the song, well to me at least. I love listening to "real music" because it puts me in a place that nobody will ever understand. I love listening to artist like India Arie, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, oh and Chrisette Michele! They to me are real artist! (I guess you guys can see, I love Alicia &&Chrisette..lol) But hey, don't get me wrong Beyonce, Rihanna and them are good artists but they are primarily entertainers, they only entertain. I don't necessarily feel what they are trying to convey through their music. To me it's just something they do for the $$. just saying...
Before I go off on a tangent, let me talk about what I intended to talk you about because the world knows Salissa Nashae can talk about a whole lot of nothing lol. But yea, Nikki Minaj and Drake's song Moment For Life...BRILLIANT! I absolutely love this song! I never thought I would say this in a million years because I'm not the biggest fan of Nikki, but I give her props! This song speaks the truth. My favorite part is
"I fly with the stars in the skies, I am no longer trying to survive, I believe that life is a prize, but to live doesn't mean you're alive." I love the lyrics because it tells a story, she grew up from nothing and now is somebody big..all she wants is this moment for life.
Sometimes we as human beings want so much and never get it, so when we finally do get it we want it forever, for life. I know I do, shoot! I have dreams to do a whooooooooooooooooLe lot of stuff. I wanna be a producer, a songwriter, a manager, a radio personality, a professional singer, a actress, etc. lol I love to be in the spotlight and when that day comes I know I want it for life. I don't want to miss out on any opportunities. Too many people let their dreams fade away because they are too afraid. But all I can is "FOR WHAT??" Like Nikki says "fly with the stars in the skies!" Do what ever you wanna do because at the end of the day you can only please your self. When my moment comes I damn sure want it for life, the question is do you?
