Katy's Korner: Lets get artsy

OK  last post of the night..So I have been depriving myself of all the riches and wealth that DC has to offer! I have been so consumed in what I NEED to do for school that I have neglected what I WANT to do in life...I was just throughly checking though my emails and I am on this email list for artists in DC and I get events and updates on new exhibits! I want to check this out like yesterday!



Get this the African Art Museum has the best exhibit on right now entitled: Artists in Dialogue 2:  Sandile Zulu/ Henrique Oliveira...its an exhibit about two very different artists who speak through natural resources. The entire point of the exhibit is to revisit the entire of the canvas being our natural papers where we jot all our thoughts and memories down..which as an artists..I feel like is beyond true. When watching the video for the exhibit and reading what is is about it kinda made me sad because I have done genuine art work that I want to display or spoken through since high school...since college Ive only done art that was required for a class not necessarily done for me :/ sigh that makes me sad..but all this will change! Spring break is coming up and it is my GOAL to reconnect with that artistic side

I use to have such a bad way of communicating and when I was mad instead of cleaning..lol yes i know... i would just pick up a pen or paint and do my thing... now I just clean...i miss the art..I promise this exhibit..even though i havent been yet...is beyond inspiring...ALL ARTIST NEED TO GO...no matter what type of media you work with! and even non artists should go *even though i dont believe they exits*

everyone has a hidden artists inside of them
