Katy's Korner: New chapters call for big girl panties

Everyone has a time in their life where there's a change..wheather it be graduating college..getting a new car...crossing a fraternity or sorority...getting a a new hair cut..color..style. Everyone goes through changes either major or minor they effect the way we live our lives.
 For me this summer is going to be filled with MAJOR..and minor changes. I am currently leaving Washington DC (my home city) behind and forward marching to the big apple! This is a major change because DC has been my entire life...literally..i was born raised..and lived in DC ALLLLLLLLLL 20years of my life. I went to elementary school middle school and high school in maryland and eventually decided after applying to EVERY school in the country that I would stay right here at home and go to the BEST university anyone could ask for (HOWARD UNIVERSITY*BIG UPS*) but now it's time for a new chapter...
I've worked my butt off for my ENTIRE college career to land the internship of a lifetime in one of the best cities in the nation with one of the best companies a fashion major could every ask for. Yes I am going to NYC...and yes I will be working right on 5th ave and no I will not jinks my chances at landing a job with this amazing company by revealing what company it is..but lets just call it company "AMAZING"! I leave monday for the big apple and I am packed a ready...I think
Change brings alot of time for reflection and I swear I have been too busy to reflect on what I want my goals and dreams for this summer to be..I mean reflecting is kinda scary..it brings up so many emotions and feelings and memories that aren't always good. For me reflection is facing my biggest fears..mistakes...hard times... good times...friendships gained..and relationships lost but reflection is ultimately good..its kinda like a parent...they aren't always your friends but they will always be there for you...reflection won't bring forth the best emotions or memories but will force you to think about who you are...was and want to be..so reflect my friends like its a mirror and there is no tomorrow *tehe*
As for me...I'm grabbing my Big Girl Panties..strapping up and moving to NYC...which brings me to my next topic...Since I will be there all summer and it might be the place I am living in the next upcoming years I will be making Katy's Korner NYC addition..I will keep you posted on the high energized internship with company AWSOME..the new apt and new roomie and all the exploring I plan to do of the city! Keep reading because this summer has just begun!!
